The Coyotes struggles in the first three innings as the Yavapai College Roughriders won game 3 of spring trip 8-2. Aidan Mordecai (Sophomore, RHP) went 3 innings surrendering 7 runs, 3 earned and took his first loss of the season. The bullpen came in behind and were able to contain the Roughriders to only 2 runs in remaining frames. Trevor Brigden, (Senior, RHP), went two scoreless, while Nick Lee, (Freshman, RHP), went 3 innings giving up 1 unearned run.
Offensively the Coyotes were lead by utility player Noah Wood-Jolivet (Sophomore, UTIL) who went 3-4 with a double and scored 1 run. Other Coyotes with hits were Jake Fischer (Junior, C) Dylan Faulkner (Freshman, INF).
“We made it tough on ourselves early in the game when we worked behind on the mound and made some errors on routine plays.” says Head Coach Geoff White. “Brigden and Lee threw well giving us a chance to get back into the game, but we haven’t clicked at the plate and been struggling to put up quality at bats.”
Next up in the desert is a match up with the College of Southern Idaho Golden Eagles 9am Sunday Feb 11th @ CSN Morse Field.
