The Coyotes faced another tough loss on Sunday Feb 11th in Las Vegas at the hands of the College of Southern Idaho Golden Eagles.
Chris Wyslobocki (Freshman, RHP, Toronto,ON) took the ball for his first college start and battled through 4 innings work before handing the ball off to the bullpen. The Eagles scored a single run in the 1st, 4 in the third to take an early 5-1 lead.
The Coyotes would claw back at the hands of Jared Frew (Senior, INF, Okotoks, AB) who hit his first homerun on the season, a grand slam over the right field wall. He would add another RBI to his day in the 7th with a bases loaded walk. The Coyotes would jump ahead 10-8 when a pass ball plated the 10th Coyote run.
Noah Wood-Jolivet (Soph, RHP, Whitby, ON) would follow Wyslobocki with an inning of work. Jesse Poniewozik (Freshman, RHP, Edmonton, AB) would give up 1 run in the 6th in his inning and a third before handing the ball over to Trevor Bridgen (Junior, RHP, Toronto, ON). Brigden would give up a run on a flare over the shortstop head to tie the game in the bottom of the ninth.
Wyatt Hummel (Soph, RHP, West Kelowna, BC) came on the 10th to keep the Eagles in check but the Coyotes defense had a couple of lapses that would lead to the walk off win for the home team Eagles.
The final finished 11-10.
