Next Step for Coyotes Program

The Okanagan College Coyotes will take a big step this fall. The Coyotes will head down south to the San Francisco Bay are to play five NCAA Division One programs. Over the Thanksgiving weekend and for 8 days the Coyotes will face some top college baseball programs.

“We are extremely excited as a program for this opportunity,” says Head Coach Geoff White, “we have been working hard for several years to get to this point to go and play the highest level of college baseball.”

The Coyotes will kick the trip off against Western Athletic Conference perennial powerhouse, Sacramento State University Hornets on Monday October 10th. The Coyotes will then head down the road to Stockton, California against the University of Pacific Tigers, member of the West Coast Conference October 11th.

October 12th the team will head a little further west to play PAC 12 and historic University of California-Berekley Golden Bears. October 13th San Jose State Spartans will be the opponent, member of the Mountain West Conference.

The Coyotes will wrap up the Division One schedule on Friday October 14th in Reno, Nevada against the University of Nevada-Reno Wolfpack. The Wolfpack are also a member of the Mountain West Conference.

“We have some excellent programs we will get a chance to compete against,” says White. “We are excited about our 2022-2023 group of returners and freshman, but we have lots of work to do to prepare for these games.”

The trip will wrap up in Ontario, Oregon against the Treasure Valley College Chukars. The Chukars are a member of the NWAC Junior College circuit.
